Creating Balance in Your Life
and Home MLM Business
Remember when you thought that working from home would create
more balance in your life?
More (quality)
time with the kids, a cleaner house (ha), bills paid on time
(that was due last week?) and work done more efficiently?
Well, it was a
nice daydream anyway, right?
If "juggle"
seems to be your middle name, relax.
You’re in good
company!
There has
probably never been a time in history more prone to the
"juggling act."
We juggle
careers, home businesses, finances, activities, aging parents,
family issues, commitments and more!
While it may get
tricky at times, you CAN create balance, and you can do it with
flair!
The first, and
most important, principle that you MUST remember is to keep
your sense of humor. A little humor can go a long way in
reducing the stress of an overloaded "to do" list.
When you find
yourself "maxxed out!", dig down deep, and find a way to laugh
about the situation!
The second
principle is to prioritize and put "first things first." Get
very focused on what you really want out of life. Make a daily
list of things to accomplish. Then, categorize your list, doing
the most important things first.
And, learn how
to say "NO!"
You are not
responsible for the whole world. You must learn to eliminate
those things from your life that do not move you closer to your
goals.
Third, take some
time and get yourself organized.
In every aspect
of your life.
I have found
that this is critical to productivity and success in your home
business, and your life!
If the rest of
the house is in chaos, it’s hard for me to fully concentrate on
my business. How about you?
Organization of
your business, home and family schedules will help prevent you
from feeling like you are constantly putting out fires.
If you feel like
you are always working, but never getting ahead, this could be
part of the problem.
Organization can
be accomplished by simply developing a system for how you
manage things.
Open your mail
over the trash can.
File things
immediately.
Use binders to
keep groups of related information together.
Have a specific
time to deal with email, returning phone calls and handling
correspondence, etc.
Fourth on the
list to creating balance is to hire and delegate ANYTHING and
EVERYTHING that you possibly can. If your children are older
than three, they can begin to take on some responsibilities
around the house.
Ages and stages
need to be kept in perspective, but even young children can
pick up their toys, unload the dishwasher, set the table, lick
and stamp envelopes, etc.
This creates a
true win-win by not only easing the load for you, but also
getting the kids involved in being part of the dynamics of the
family, and, part of the business.
Life CAN be a
balancing act, but before yours spins out of control, take some
time and implement the action steps above, re-adjust and move
forward.
The better
balance you have in all areas, the more happy, productive and
satisfied you will be!
